The material connection
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and subscribe to the linked product, OffMarketLab may receive a commission from the vendor. You pay nothing extra; the commission comes out of the vendor's marketing budget, not your price.
The other way this site makes money
Affiliate commissions are not the only revenue. Faizan Masood, who writes this site, also takes paid custom software work - building bespoke CRM and data systems for real estate teams and brokerages. That is a first-party commercial interest, and it is a different thing from an affiliate commission: it is money paid directly to the author, by the client, for work performed.
We name it here because a page titled "how this site makes money" that omitted it would be incomplete, and because the standard we hold vendors to is the standard we hold ourselves to.
How we keep that interest honest
Selling custom software creates an obvious temptation: to write about off-the-shelf software in a way that makes it look inadequate. Three rules exist to stop that.
- No ranked verdicts in a category we sell into. We do not publish a "best CRM" ranking, because we would have a financial reason for every product in it to look insufficient. Where we cover CRMs, we publish a decision framework and say plainly when the honest answer is to buy an off-the-shelf product and hire nobody.
- We earn nothing from any CRM we name. There is no CRM affiliate program on this site. Every CRM mentioned is unpaid, unsponsored, and links to the vendor with no commission attached.
- The interest is disclosed in the body of the page, not buried here - in the same plain language we use to disclose which vendors pay us.
Where you will see disclosures
Every page that contains affiliate links carries a disclosure notice near the top of the page, before any affiliate link appears. Affiliate links are also marked with rel="sponsored" in the page markup, which tells search engines the same thing the banner tells you.
What commissions do not influence
Rankings, verdicts, and recommendations follow the protocol on the methodology page and are written before affiliate considerations enter. We review tools we earn nothing from, and we say on the page when that is the case. No vendor pays for placement, and no ranking position is for sale. If we ever cannot stand behind that sentence, the affiliate program in question gets dropped.
Current relationships
This page is updated whenever our affiliate relationships change. As of the date stamped above, OffMarketLab has applied to affiliate programs for the tools we cover but the list of active, approved relationships is in flux; the per-page disclosure is authoritative for any specific page. We verify each program's terms at signup and re-verify quarterly.
